July 4th weekend

We spent the July 4th weekend in Frisco, Texas, with my sisters and my parents. We drove up from Kyle on Saturday morning and met everyone at the lake. My sister and brother-in-law are serious about their lake time and get settled into the picnic spot about 9:30am. In packing, I forgot to grab my camera and video cam, so the pictures below are courtesy of my sister Alicia.

Emma sitting in the lake chair her grandpa brought for her.

Even thought I told my sisters not to take Emma out on the jetski, they could not pass up a photo opportunity. Emma seems to know what to do, she has her hands on the handles ready to go.

After watching her Aunts bask in the sun, Emma wanted to get some rays too.

Emma is buckeling up her life jacket, so that she can be pulled on the tube. Not really, no calls to CPS please.

On the 4th, we had a B-B-Que and got Emma dressed in her 4th of July dress.
Aunt Dana bought Emma this ladybug pillow pet and it has become one of Emma's favorites.

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!

Swim time fun and other adventures

This past weekend Emma had some visitors -- her Grandma O'Neil and her Aunt Alicia -- that took her on many adventures. First there was a trip to the neighborhood park.

Then onto the front porch for some bubble time.

The next day it was an early start so as not to get stuck in the heat of the day. The pool and mini-splash pad looked inviting.

Here is our little water baby sporting her new life jacket which Grandpa O'Neil bought for her. She will need it for our 4th of July trip to Dallas where we will be found relaxing at Lake Lewisville.

On Sunday we all celebrated Father's Day and Emma wore her gift for her Daddy.

Then Emma played hookie from daycare on Monday and again went to the pool with
Aunt Alicia.

Whew, what an exciting weekend!!!! Thank you Grandma and Aunt Alicia for coming down to visit and love on me!

Splash Pad adventures

I had no idea that there were about 20 splash pads around the Austin area until a classmate of Emma's blogged about going to one. I looked into this new phenomenon (at least to me) and found they are the hip thing. Splash pads are educational and less risky than going to a pool and they still cool the children down on a hot May day. At first Emma was a bit timid about going into the water sprinklers until I rolled up my pant legs and showed her how fun it would be to get wet. She soon took off after watching the other children having fun and after 45 minutes when I thought she had had enough, she cried because she did not want to leave.

San Antonio Zoo

We woke this morning and T thought it would be a perfect day for a family day. I agreed and we both settled on going to the San Antonio Zoo. Because this decision was made a little before noon and it takes an hour to get to the zoo, most of the animals were taking an afternoon nap in the shade once we arrived. The bears, tigers, and lions were all snoozing away and were not much fun. However, the monkey's were awake, the kangaroo's gave a few hops, as well as the birds. Emma had the most fun in the aquarium and at the petting park. We will go back again, but either earlier or later in the day in order to see the animals awake and moving around.

My second Mother's Day

My wake-up call this morning at a quarter of 6 was Emma crying but was soon given the gift of sleep when my husband got up with her and let me sleep until 8am. What a great Mother's Day gift. After I roused myself from bed, I got ready for church and got Emma ready. She wore her beautiful party dress that was given to her as a gift from Tony and Illenea Chase. Thanks guys, she looked like a little princess.

Mom, come dance with me.

Titan, is a good dance partner, but he wants to always kiss on me and distracts me from my dance moves.

Happy Mother's Day.
